‘Tis the season…not just for the holidays and the frenzy of shopping, but it’s also the most wonderful time of the year for big blockbuster movie releases. There are a few coming up, and it’s a great way to unplug and escape from the workday world.
Looking forward to some films coming up, it makes me think about my favorite bigger-than-life characters. We all have heroes that we look up to in life. Whether it is your dad, mom, favorite teacher, or an action character, these heroes embody the characteristics of a person that we would like to be. For me, my hero has always been Spiderman.
That’s right, Peter Parker…a.k.a. Spiderman, who can be found swinging from building to building, was a hero of mine growing up – and he still is.
What I love most about Spiderman, is that he is always saving the day. All the while, he is always selfless; putting the welfare of others in the community before himself. His actions aren’t motivated toward being a hero for its own sake, but rather he was a hero because that’s what came naturally to him. He acted so quickly to help others who needed it.
If you settle in with a good movie over the holidays, a great way to feel better about everything and everyone is to return to your heroes and be inspired by them all over again.
